About us

Quince House Cookery School is owned and run by Katharine Eldridge.

Katharine trained at the Tante Marie School of Cookery and having graduated with distinction was asked to teach at the school. She taught and demonstrated at Tante Marie from 1992 until 2002 when her first son was born. During that time she also owned and ran her own catering company.

Quince House Cookery School was founded in 2008 when the children had reached an age that allowed Katharine to once again indulge her passion.

We offer scheduled group demonstrations (maximum of 10) and hands-on classes for up to 6. We also offer one-on-one tuition at your convenience.

Hands On Simple Bread Making - Fri 03Oct25 10am-1pm

Homemade bread is so easy when you know how and can be very therapeutic too!  Starting at 10am, on this half day course you will learn how to make seeded batch rolls, pita, focaccia and a quick and easy wholemeal loaf.

Hands On Thai - Sat 11Oct25, 10am-1pm
£100.00

This is a relaxed and fun class where you will learn how to cook an authentic Green Thai Curry, Pad Thai, Crab Fried Rice and Spring Rolls.  These dishes introduce you to the key flavours of Thai cookery, sweet, sour, salty and spicy and after the course you will feel more confident about replicating the dishes in your own kitchen.

Hands On Men in the Kitchen - Sat 18Oct25, 10am-1pm
£100.00

The course is aimed at the novice cook.  Enjoy a fun morning cooking and gaining confidence.  Dishes to include the perfect steak with accompanying sauce, to be enjoyed for lunch, plus a simple fish dish and chicken korma.
